Free Arts Minnesota provides many ways for you to harness and further your talents and passions.
Free Arts is partnering with the University of St. Thomas Choral Department to bring the healing power of song and music to Free Arts youth. The program runs Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30-11:30am from July 13th through the 29th. If you are interested in learning more about becoming involved, email Jim Moen at jim@freeartsminnesota.org. Learn more about the program here.
You, along with four to five other volunteers, will lead the same small group of children from September through May for one hour each week. Weekday, weekend or evening placements are available. Volunteers in the group take turns planning and leading art projects. Volunteers can develop ongoing projects or projects that are finished during a weekly session. Activities may include visual arts, dance, movement, drama, music, photography, sculpture, creative writing or other art mediums that volunteers wish to try. Locations: throughout Twin Cities.
You may work with us on a short- or long-term basis to assist in mailings, answering phones, data base entry, research and preparation work for art projects, public relations, event management, etc. Location: Minneapolis
We invite you to serve on a committee for fundraisers, to solicit donations and gifts or organize an art supply drive.
Periodically we need volunteer assistance to help with special events such as Free Arts Days, art exhibits, recruitment tables, fundraisers and other events. There is no regular schedule for these opportunities and locations are throughout the Metro area.
Internships involve a 10 to 20 hour-a-week commitment depending on the internship position. Internship positions include: program, marketing, development and graphic/web. Read more about our Internships
